Vintage 1972 Illustrated Psychedelic POSTER Catalog by Synergisms, a San Francisco distribution company. 80 pages, 10" x 7". The fantastic book in this listing shows the images of over 200 posters that were commercially available in the beginning of 1972. This company had realized that poster shops in the tourist areas of the San Francisco Bay Area particularly, as well as any other city in the U. With a "hippie" district or "happening" neighborhood could be provided with the display racks and widespread selection from which to choose that would bring them success.

Because it is a wholesale catalog, the retail prices are shown so the store owner could visualize their potential sales figures. Osters were the latest popular art form, and were extremely affordable. For less than half the price of a new vinyl record at the time, one could get a giant color poster [or two black & white ones], and slap them up on the wall!

The smaller companies that printed these posters would have been excited to have this company show up to provide for wider distribution. The contents include the full range of subjects important to the youth movement and counterculture at that time; a lot of scenic and nature shots, cartoony things, colorful images designed to'blow your mind', animals, movie scenes and stars, artistic pin-ups, blacklight, musicians, quotations and inspirations.

Most of the images are about 3 x 4 inches. Besides small versions of every poster as illustrations, there are many instructions for the store owners to assist their customers. This book is fairly sturdy, printed on heavy stock and well-stapled. This is certainly a rare time capsule of images from over fifty years ago!
